  • Starting from a differentiated view of contemporary culture, tha Author identifies several areas, which - under certain conditions - may become occasions for a new dialogue between tha Church and present-day society. Some parameters are presented for the search for the truth and the bonum in post-modern culture, such as the importance of language, communicative modality, reflective interiority, narrative identity and the search for authentic selfhood. Franciscan thought, with its tradition of searching for the trurh and the bonum, in community and through dialogue taking place in concrete situations, can offer interesting prospets for the new evangelisation, since it originates with the theological insights of Francis and Clare. Franciscan evangelisation shourld seek to be inspired anew by these theological insights, and to bring them to bear on the present in a quest for relational and community truth, both "ad intra" and "ad extra", in dialogue with the concerns and the hopes of today´s world.
