  • In response to the radical changes that mark our times, the Author calls for a return to the foundations of the Christian life, for rediscovering the Gospel faith, as St. Francis does in his Rule, which consists in the passage from seeing to seeing-and-believing. This is a two-part study: The first part is analytical, and considers several texts from the Franciscan sources, such as the First Admonition, the Canticle of Brother Sun, the Testament; the second part is instead systematic, aiming at deriving from the texts some considerations geared to the subject of the new evangelisation. Summing il all up, for the Author, the possibility of "reading" the epochal changes underway, and of meeting the needs resulting therefrom, resides in the ability to look deeply into that which is happening, in order to recognise in these events the presence of God, just as is proposed in the theology of the signs of the times, indicated by the Second Vatican Council.
