  Periodismo, Literatura y Política: Las elecciones municipales y autonómicas de 1991 en el diario Las Provincias de Valencia.

  A través del estudio de un corpus establecido con citas textuales del diario Las Provincias de Valencia, durante el periodo transcurrido del 10 al 24 de mayo de 1991, se deducen una serie de conclusiones:

  1) Contagio entre periodistas y políticos que se nutren de la fuente inagotable de la literatura.

  2) Tono épico en la información de la actualidad política a través de la aplicación del epíteto identificador y la conformación de un léxico bélico-épico-militar, no exento de violencia que refleja la oposición y rivalidad de las opciones defendidas.

  3) Utilización de los líderes de un lenguaje político en la modalidad totalitaria que pretende producir emociones, recurriendo a referencias intertextuales de tipo histórico, literario, religioso, mitológico... etc.

  4) El lenguaje periodístico es un nido de lenguajes en el que comprobamos con frecuencia la presencia de tropismos procedentes de otros campos.

  Journalism, literature and politics: A view of the 1991 municipal and autonomous region elections as seen by the Las Provincias daily newspaper of Valencia.

  We have come to a series of conclusions after thoroughly studying an established corpus of quotes in the Las Provincias newspaper from the tenth to the twentyfourth of may, 1991.

  1) Journalists and politicians are influenced by literature's endless source on which they often base themselves.

  2) There is an epic tone in all current political information through the use of the epithet identifyer along with the adaptation of a warlike-epic-military vocabulary, which also includes violence produced by the oposition and rivalry that comes from the defense of the different options.

  3) Leaders use a political type of language in a totalitarian way with the main purpose of producing emotions. In order to fo about this they often appeal to historical, literary, religions mithological or other types of intertextual references.

  4) Newspaper language is a centre of languages in which we frequently find the presence of tropismos coming from other fields.
