Las minas de hierro a cielo abierto de Ojos Negros (Teruel) viven un importante proceso de transformación, cuyo principal objetivo es el de convertirse en un espacio cultural. Como elemento diferenciador, respecto a otras iniciativas de recuperación y puesta en valor del patrimonio minero, las minas de Ojos Negros se brindan como un espectacular soporte para la práctica del arte contemporáneo. Las propuestas desarrolladas por los artistas se imbrican en el paisaje, la historia del lugar y la de sus habitantes, contribuyendo al desarrollo y a la dinamización social de su entorno.
The opencast iron mines of Ojos Negros (Teruel) are through an important process of transformation, the main aim of which is to become a cultural space. As a distinguishing feature, in comparison to other initiatives to restore and improve the value of the mining heritage, the mines of Ojos Negros offer themselves as an outstanding base for contemporary art practice. The proposals carried out by artists overlap in the landscape, the history of the place and its inhabitants, therefore increasing the social dynamism and development of the surroundings.
