Explotación de las Minas de Río Tinto por la Real Hacienda (1783-1829)

    Rehabilitadas las minas en 1725 por el sueco Wolters, son explotadas en régimen de alquiler por éste, su sobrino Tiquet y el español Sanz hasta el año 1783 en que se hace cargo de ellas la Real Hacienda, periodo en el que se distinguen dos etapas, una brillante y productiva hasta 1797 y otra de decadencia y abandono hasta 1829 en que son de nuevo alquiladas, estando paralizadas desde 1810 a 1824. En general las propuestas de mejoras formuladas por los ingenieros de minas, durante este periodo, no fueron aprobadas por el Estado por lo que se perdieron cuantiosos beneficios.

    The mines have been rehabilitated by the Swedish Wolters in the year 1725, and were exploited with a contract of renting signed for this business man, his nephew Tiquet and the Spanish Sanz until the year 1783, when the Royal Department of the Treasury took them under control. After that, started a period of time distinguishing two phases: the first one, at the beginning very important and productive until the year 1797 and the second, going down and abandoned until the year 1829, being this year when the mines were rented again, and standby from 1810 to 1824. In general, the purposes that the mining engineers gave to increase the quality performance and standards werenÕt authorized by the Official Mining Government Department, giving as final result the lose of high profits.
