    El artículo aborda las relaciones entre el término escritor y el término intelectual desde una doble perspectiva: la cronológica y la ideológica. Todas las implicaciones van dirigidas asimismo hacia el análisis de la contestación al poder. El intelectual surge así como figura necesaria en el mundo contemporáneo de la crítica de la cultura. Acaba la función del intelectual cuando comienza su acatamiento sin espíritu crítico de las normas idelógicas impuestas desde el poder político.

    El autor del artículo apunta también hacia la esclorosis del intelectual por defecto o por exceso. Es decir, el intelectual no existe cuando el poder le cierra los cauces de su protesta y, al contrario, cuando ésta es injustificada.

    Finalmente se abordan las relaciones entre el intelectual y el artista, entre la protesta en el arte y el arte como protesta. El arte como protesta deviene insustancial y, a la postre, niega su condición de arte.

    The article studies the relationship between the term writer and the term intellectual from a double perspective: chronology and ideology. All the implications are directed towards the analysis of the opposition to power. The intellectual thus emerges as a necessary figure in the contemporary world of critics of culture. His function ends the moment his critical spirit starts accepting ideological rules emanating from the sources.

    The author points out the "scerosis" of intellectuals either through defect or through excess. This is to say that intellectual cesases to exit when the power deprives him of his means of protest, and, on the contrary, when the protest has no justification.

    Finally, the article studies the relation between the artist and the intellectual and also between both protest in art and art as protest loses all substance and ultimately denies its own contition as art.
