Six geological formations (Dongshan, Cagiela, Lengqingre, Xiawucubo, Jiubao and Zongshan), palaeontologically dated as Berriasian/Aptian to Maastrichtian, are described from the Gamba and Tingri regions of southern Tibet. The attendant planktonic foraminiferal assemblages of each formation are given. The calcareous nannofossil biostratigraphies of three sections, Gamba Zongshan, Gamba Dongshan and tingri Gongza, are outlined and correlated with the planktonic foraminiferal biozones.
