  • Resumen
    • The Reed Warbler Acrocephalus scirpaceus is a migrant species that breeds in most of the lberian Peninsula and typically winters in sub-Saharan areas of West Africa. There are a few records of wintering birds, but sedentary behaviour in this species has never been documented. In late autumn 1997 (O 1.72.97) an adult of this species was ringed at the Guadalhorce estuary (Malaga, southern Spain). The bird was subsequently recaptured during the next spring (28.04.97), autumn (1 7.10.97) and winter (27.0 1.98). Capture-recapture data suggest a sedentary status for that individual, which would be the first record of such behaviour for the species.
