  • This is the seventh report published by the Grup Catala dlAnellament (GCA), covering the period 7 994- 1 996. Within this period, it is worth highlighting the work carried out in 1996 with a total of 43, 842 birds ringed, which means a new record year. A grand total of 721, 335 birds of 22 1 species were ringed during the three years, including fourteen species new for the GCA. The increase in the number of birds ringed is mainly due to new ringers starting their work, and to the new campaigns currently running. This report summarizes all these activities, as well as providing a selected list of controls and of the most interesting recoveries.
