Recapturas de Chorlitejo Patinegro (Charadrius alexandriunus) en una localidad costera de Odesa (Ucrania)

  • Kentish Plover breeding site fidelity has been shown to vary befween localities. This parameter is analysed for the Ukraine. Altogether 248 birds were ringed in 1985 in Odessa. Of these, 24 (9, 6%) were subsequently recaptured in 1986. Three of these birds had been ringed as pulli. Of the retraps 12% of the breeding plovers were recaptured at exactly the same area where they had been ringed in the previous year. All of this suggests a certain interyear fidelity of the species, not only to a general region, but also to the site at which they previously bred.
