El artículo presenta una discusión sobre las rebeliones de los indígenas gunas desde el siglo XVII hasta la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, para explicar el proceso mediante el cual este grupo desarrolló un control sobre el territorio del Darién histórico, a través de ataques constantes a las pequeñas poblaciones hispanas en Darién, frecuentemente con el apoyo de otros europeos enemigos de los españoles, como los ingleses. franceses y escoceses. This paper present the guna Indian rebellions in Darien, Panarna. since XVII century to XIX century, that explain the guna control over the Darién territory, often supported by other European repre entatives, such as the English. French and Scotland, through attacks to those small Spanish settlements along the Darién territory. Additionally, it comments over the guna skills to negotiate with the Spanish minim um territorial rights that anticipated their reaction to the new Panamanian state after 1903 and their rebellion in 1925.
