Desde hace tiempo venimos aplicando de una manera inconsciente el enfoque terapéutico a la enfermería, pero hasta ahora no se han definido las actividades enfermeras como valor terapéutico y no hemos establecido los objetivos ni analizado los resultados, sino que actuamos a partir de una filosofía empírica. Podría parecer incluso curioso preguntarse por el valor terapéutico de los cuidados de enfermería cuando hasta ahora, se ha estado considerando que cuidar es la aportación de una ayuda, sin por ello cuestionar el significado de esta ayuda para el que la requiere y para quien la ofrece.

For along time we have applied unconsciously the therapeutic approach to nursing, but yet the nursing interventions have not been defined as a therapeutic value and we have not established the objetives nor analyzed the results, but that we acted from an empirical philosophy. Even, could to seem us a litle bit peculiar to ask for the therapeutic value of nursing cares when until now, it has been considering that to take care of is the contribution of an aid, without for that reason questioning the meaning of this aid which it requires it and for who offers it.
