  • With our database, we want to record both all the lexical units that we've elicited in the Flegrean area (Bacoli, Ischia, Monte di Procida, Pozzuoli and Procida) and the lexicographic Neapolitan tradition. We've built an archive in which we have inserted the lexical units, all the information about the linguistic variation in the area, some ethnographic note about the traditions we've observed in the area and the articles of some Neapolitan-Italian dictionaries. The database permits to study the lexical units in different ways: first of all it's possible to select all the units for each semantic area (agriculture, fishing and house) or for each linguistic issue that we've studied. It's also possible to select the units according to the lexicographic tradition or some ethnographic note. We think that the database could be considered as the first step for many linguistic studies.
