Se pretende con este artículo introducir a la historia del ateísmo, mostrando a algunos importantes autores que dejaron a un lado definitivamente el pensamiento religioso y las instituciones consecuentes, se le vincula explícitamente con una filosofía y una actitud vital antiautoritarias y se le presenta como una evolución permanente del proceso de librepensamiento y desacralización iniciado en la modernidad. Asimismo, se repasan algunas obras recientes, que apuestan por un ateísmo combativo respecto al pensamiento religioso, con el fin de otorgar un horizonte más amplio a la razón, la política y la moralidad.
The aim of this article is to delve into the history of atheism through a few important authors who definitively left religious thought and the resulting institutions aside with an explicit link to an anti-authoritarian vital philosophy and attitude which is presented as an ongoing evolution in the process of free thought and the desacralisation that began in the modern age. Moreover, a few recent works are reviewed which call for combative atheism against religious thought so as to broaden the horizons of reason, politics and morality.
