Objective: Satisfied patients are more likely than unsatisfied ones to continue using health care services, establish a relation with care providers and comply with care regimens. the aims of this study were to determine the level of patient satisfaction with the service delivered in an outpatient Pharmacy Unit (oPU) and to detect improving actions.
Method: We performed a cross-sectional study from may to december 2010. The survey included 19 questions.
Results: overall satisfaction level was 4.56 ±0.61. 97.7% of patients considered the pharmacist had high professional competence; 80.5% answered they had received information about a safe use of drugs and all doubts were solved; and, 81% obtained all information needed. 95.8% of patients considered, pharmacist was useful or very useful for their health status.
Conclusions: Overall satisfaction was very high, 96.6% patients showed to be satisfied or very satisfied with the overall clinical pharmacy delivering. We established improving actions from patient suggestions.
