  • Resumen
    • Motor vehicle accidents are in the Valencian Community the seventh cause of death, with a gross mortality rate of 23.6 per 10,000 habitants. Although it is not known with exactitude the drug contribution, it is supposed that they participate in a relevant manner on the accidents due to the human factor, wich represent 90% of the total. It is necessary, for such reason, to know in an actual way the influence of drugs on the needed aptitudes for driving. For such purpose, on the first place the bibliography (Medline, Spanish Medical Index) was revised in search for drug classification systems that affect driving and, later, the available information was compared in the sources that group drugs among categories with those that do not. There were established notable differences in the quality of information obtained, fundamentally in those groups from which specific works were not available. Global references to the therapeutic group with respect to its driving safety are frequent in the unclassified sources by categories, while the classified sources itemize the effects of each drug in the group, establishing the logical differences among them, for that reason these last ones should be preferred whenever information is conveyed to physicians and to patients. Finally, they are commented detailed the effects of the principal therapeutic grups on vehicle driving
