In this work we analyze the Mollusks, Foraminifers, Ostracods and the Palinology (Pollen and Dynoflallates), from two representative section of the Upper Neogene from the west edge of the Bou Regreg basin (Morocco): Oued Arjat and Salé. In O. Arjat, a hiatus detaches the lower levels (dated as Upper Messinian) from the upper levels (Upper Zanclean). In Salé, all the section are of Lower Zanclean age. The fossil record of the lower levels of Oued Arjat suggests a paleoenviroment of an outer marine shelf because of the abundance of Planulina ariminensis, the Krithe/Parakrithe group and Spiniferites/Achomosphaera. In Salé and upper levels of O. Arjat, macro and microfossils suggest a nearshore inner marine shels.
