El Programa Iberoamericano de Ciencia y Tecnología para el Desarrollo (CYTED), creado en 1984, constituye un interesante ejemplo de continuidad y progreso en la cooperación iberoamericana. El CYTED tiene una serie de características que lo han convertido en un instrumento eficaz para la cooperación científica y tecnológica, con un alto grado de perseverancia, rigor y calidad. En la actualidad participan en este Programa alrededor de 5.200 investigadores, por lo que puede considerarse una de las mayores super-redes de cooperación científica y tecnológica internacional.
The Latin-American Programme of Development Science and Technology (CYTED), that was set up in 1984, is an interesting example of continuity and progress in Latin-American cooperation. The CYTED has a number of features that have converted it into an effective instrument to scientific and technological cooperation, with a large degree of perseverance, rigour and quality. About 5,200 researchers now participate in this programme, wherefore it can be considered one of the largest super-networks for international scientific and technological cooperation.
