    Un análisis crítico y general de los sistemas políticos de Occidente, recalcando la crisis grave y definitiva que atraviesan las democracias representativas y sus principales instituciones (el sufragio universal, la clase política, el sistema de los tres poderes, las elecciones, los partidos políticos, la opacidad y las constituciones políticas). Para superar la irreversible decadencia de las actuales formas de gobierno, el artículo propone un modelo alternativo de democracia que renueve sus principios y valores (meritocracia, transparencia, definición de nuevos poderes del Estado), y en el que se prescinda de lo nocivo y obsoleto: partidos políticos, elecciones y constituciones. El último capítulo incluye breves reflexiones sobre la futura transición política.

    A critical and general analysis of political systems in the West, emphasising the serious and permanent crisis faced by representative democracies and their major institutions (universal suffrage, political class, the system of the three powers, elections, political parties, opacity and the constitution). To overcome the irreversible decline of the current forms of government, this paper proposes an alternative model of democracy that renews its principles and values (meritocracy, transparency, de fi ning new branches of government), and which dispenses with the harmful and obsolete: political parties, elections and constitutions. The last chapter includes brief reflections on the future political transition.
