La presente investigación hace un recorrido por la historia de la humanidad y la importancia que el vino tuvo en el desarrollo de cada una de las etapas del hombre, recoge los conceptos más destacados en relación a las características fisiológicas de la planta de vid, su ciclo vegetativo relacionado con el cultivo, las variedades existentes, los procesos de elaboración de distintos vinos y la producción vinícola en el Ecuador.

The current investigation goes throughout the human history and the importance that the wine had in the development of each stage of the human being, it gathers the most outstanding concepts related to the physiological characteristics of the vine plant, its vegetative cycle related to the cultivation, existing varieties, different making processes of the wine and the Ecuadorean vine production.
