Resumen de To Strive, to Seek, to Google, to Forget

Panos Koutrakos

  • On May 13, 2014, the European Court of Justice rendered its judgment in Google Spain. The dispute arose in Spain where Google was ordered by the national Data Protection Agency to remove from its search engine links to newspaper publications about a Spanish citizen's involvement in bankruptcy proceedings more than a decade earlier. The basis for the decision of the Spanish Data Protection Agency was Directive 95/46 (the Data Protection Directive), the interpretation of which constituted the subject matter of the Google Spain case.
