  In 1996 and 1997, as a result of large-area excavation at the late-Augustan military base at Lahnau-Waldgirmes (Lahn-Dill district), building-traces along the via principalis and via praetoria as well as parts of the central structure were revealed. The ground-plan and arrangement of the structural remains discovered at this location have no know parallels in other contemporaneous installations. This applies particularly to the drystone foundation of the central building. The supposition of a special status for the site ensuing from these discoveries is supported by finds, some of which are exceptional. The dating of the complex is based on a coin series of approximately 200 items, among which, at present, no coinage can be noted from the time after A.D. 9.

  En 1996 et 1997, des recherches effectuées sur de très grandes surfaces sur le camp augustéen de Lahnau-Waldgirmes (Lahn-Dill-Kreis) ont permis de mettre au jour des traces de construction de long de la via principalis et de la via praetoria, ainsi que des parties du bâtiment central. Dans l'état actuel des recherches, le plan et l'organisation des restes de construction découverts ne connaissent pas de parallèles dans dàutres sites datès de la même époque. Ceci éléments semblent indiquer une position originale du site et une telle hypothèse est rende monnaies d'environ 200 pièces parmi lesquelles, pour le moment, aucune frappe postérieure à l'an 9 après J.C. n'est connue.

  In den Jahren 1996 und 1997 konnten durch großflächige Untersuchungen im spätaugusteischen Stützpunkt von Lahnau-Waldgirmes, Lahn-Dill-Kreis, Bebauungsspuren entlang der via principalis und via praetoria sowie Teile des Zentralgebäudes freigelegt werden. Grundriß und Anordnung der dort aufgedeckten Gebäudereste haben bisher in zeitgleichen Anlagen keine Parallelen. Dies aus diesen Befunden resultierende Vermutung über eine besondere Stellung dieses Platzes wird durch teils außergewöhnliche Funde unterstützt. Die Datierung der Anlage basiert auf einer Münzreihe von etwa 200 Stücken, worunter momentan keine Prägung der Zeit nach 9 n. Chr. zu verzeichnen sind.
