Objective: To know the contribution by pharmacy professionals to the struggle against tobacco consumption, through the advice for quitting tobacco adiction. Methods: A sample of 401 employees was studied, selected by a two-stage sampling process, presenting to them an anonymous and self-administered survey that allowed to know the characteristics of the advice for quitting tobaccoism. Results: 46.4% of the staff always offered this advice (56.93% of the male and 52.63% of the licensed pharmacists), while 48.9% of them did it in regards to a related pathology, and 4.7% did never offer it. In this task, 34.29% spent less than 3 minutes, 37.96% between 3 and 5 minutes, and 27.75% more than 5 minutes. The advice could be: minimal intervention (89.53%), substitutive therapy with nicotine (62.57%, with a larger percentage of pharmacists), and other types in a lower percentage. 66.75% of them, asked again about the subject. Conclusions: The community pharmacy staff offers advice for tobacco dehabituation, through personal counseling and pharmacological substitutive therapy with nicotine (to a lower extent the auxiliary staff)
