  • Resumen
    • This paper presents an analysis of causality between the variables known as growth of output per worker and investment in physical capital per worker. Using the methodology of Vector Autoregressive Models (VAR) develops an empirical evaluation for the Colombian economy. For the econometric modeling of time series is used a time horizon that covers the period 1970-2010. The results obtained allow; first, make a brief comparison -with respect to the determinants of performance of GDP- between theories such as Solows Theory and other less conventional like Lauchlin Currie´s Theory, since is obtained causality running from GDP growth per worker towards growth of capital per worker; and second, consider a feedback process in the dynamic of growth of the Colombian economy, so that this growth is subject to a virtuous circle that evidence a strengthening rather than a depletion.
