Se estudio la hidrogenacion del furfural sobre catalizadores Pt/TiO2, Pt/Nb2O5, Pt/SiO2 y Pt/Al2O3. Los productos se analizaron por Cromatografia de Gases .
Espectrometria de Masas. Catalizadores Pt/TiO2, Pt/SiO2 y Pt/Nb2O5 presentaron alta selectividad al alcohol furfurilico, Pt/Al2O3 mostro alta selectividad al 2- furaldehido dietilacetal, producto secundario, debido a la acidez del soporte (�Á- alumina) y el solvente etanol. Se obtuvo alta conversion con Pt/TiO2 y mejor comportamiento en catalizadores reducidos a alta temperatura (HTR). Pero Pt/Al2O3, reducido a baja temperatura (LTR) mostro altos valores de conversion, porque la reaccion es gobernada por acidez del soporte y no por la reaccion de reduccion.
Furfural hydrogenation over Pt/TiO2, Pt/Nb2O5, Pt/SiO2 and Pt/Al2O3 catalysts has been studied. Products were analyzed by Gas Chromatography � Mass Spectrometry system. Pt/TiO2, Pt/SiO2 and Pt/Nb2O5 catalysts were highly selective to furfuryl alcohol, the Pt/Al2O3 catalyst showed high selectivity towards 2-furaldehyde diethylacetal (secondary product); due support acidity (ã- alumina) and ethanol solvent. Highly conversion was obtained whit Pt/TiO2 and better behavior in catalysts reduced at high temperature (HTR). However Pt/Al2O3 catalysts reduced at low temperature (LTR) show highly values of conversion because the reaction is governed by support acidity and not by the reduction reaction.
