  • Resumen
    • This article sheds new light on the attempt of Andreas Jamometic to call a new council in Basel in the year 1482. Moving from the observation that Jamometic's project was deficient both in canonistic and in political respects, it is shown how especially Florence and Naples supported the archbishop of Krajina, and what their interests and strategies were. To this purpose, a formerly unknown instruction written for the jurist Francesco Accolti who would have presented himself as an ambassador to the court of Emperor Frederick III is analyzed. Furthermore it is pointed out how these politics and their political language contributed to the image of the pontificate of Sixtus IV.
