Na passagem do século XIV ao XV, arcebispos e bispos relataram inúmeros casos de fiéis que extrapolavam os limites do que era considerado aceitável durante as solenidade realizadas nos nos entornos das igrejas, especialmente nos dias de procissões e de vigílias noturnas. Visando combater o desregramento dessa gente, esses eclesiásticos elaboraram um rol de prédicas sobre as condutas que um bom cristão deveria assumir nesses encontros. Partindo das propostas moralizantes elencadas nos sínodos, interrogaremos por quais meios as solenidades religiosas deveriam ser reguladas nesse período.

Between the fourteenth to fifteenth centuries, archbishops and bishops reported numerous cases of believers who transgressed the acceptable limits during religious ceremonies organized in around of the churches, especially in the days of processions and the night vigils. To fight against the lawlessness of Portuguese faithful in public space, these religious elaborated a complex list of sermons concerning conduct that the Christian should take in popular festivities. Taking into account the moralizing effort of the synods, we will analyze the means used to regulate parties in this period.
