  Se determinó la actividad antimicrobiana de extractos y fracciones de diferentes polaridades de la especie vegetal Cuphea ciliata Ruiz & Pav. frente a microorganismos Gram (+) y Gram (-) por el método de difusión en gel por perforación en placa. Las pruebas de eficacia antimicrobiana exhibieron inhibición significativa en los extractos etanólicos.

  We determine the antimicrobial activity of extracts and fractions of different polarity of the specie Cuphea ciliata Ruiz & Pav, againt microorganisms Gram (+) and Gram (-) by the method of diffusion in gel with perforation in plates,. The tests of antimicrobial efficiency show significant inhibition in the etanolic extracts.
