  En este artículo, centraremos toda nuestra atención en las reformulaciones o parodias �en el sentido hutcheoniano del término� que la dramaturga británica Moira Buffini adscribe a las figuras femeninas que componen el elenco de Welcome to Thebes (2010). Partiremos de los valores clásicos �sofocleos mayoritariamente� de cada una de ellas, analizaremos en profundidad su nueva caracterización, desvelaremos los transtextos históricos que evoquen y, finalmente, pondremos de relieve la complejidad y riqueza de las mujeres míticas estudiadas.

  This article aims to focus on the reformulations or parodies �in the Hutcheonian sense of the term� that British playwright Moira Buffini attributes to the female figures featuring in Welcome to Thebes (2010). To this end, I first go over their classical �chiefly Sophoclean� meanings; I then proceed to analyse their new characterisation; I reveal the historical transtexts they evoke;

  and lastly, I bring to the foreground the rich complexity of the analysed mythical women.
