La autora de este trabajo parte del concepto clásico ya expuesto por Herodoto de Halicarnaso (Arión viajaba �oreontai� para ver), y se centra en relatos de viajes por Aragón del siglo XVIII. Tras explicar los motivos por los que estos se emprendían, su finalidad instructiva, así como las circunstancias y las condiciones en que se desarrollaban, se detiene particularmente en las noticias e impresiones que los diarios y la correspondencia de los viajeros aportan sobre esa región, describiendo los paisajes, el urbanismo y arquitectura de algunas de sus ciudades, su historia, formas de comportamiento social y el desarrollo de la vida cotidiana. Interesan, especialmente, los testimonios de viajeros ilustrados que rechazaban, y zaherían, las supersticiones, milagrerías y las falsas tradiciones pías. A estos testimonios no suelen prestar atención tan inmediata y directa ni la historia ni otros escritos coetáneos

The author of this work begins with the classical basis that was already expounded by Herodotus of Halicarnassus (Arion travelled �oreontai� to see), and centres around travellers� tales of Aragon of the 18th Century. After explaining the reasons why these journeys were undertaken, their educational purpose, as well as the circumstances and the conditions in which they were carried out, it pays particular attention to the news and views that the diaries and travellers� correspondence expound about the region, describing the scenery, the urban planning and architecture of some cities; their history, the forms social behaviour and the development of daily life. The testimonials of illustrated travellers are of special interest because they rejected and attacked superstitions, miracle-working and other false religious traditions. Both History and other contemporary documents do not usually pay particular attention to these testimonials
