Resumen de El poeta latino de Calatayud Antonio Serón y la "Leyenda de los Amantes de Teruel"

La popular Leyenda de los Amantes de Teruel está tomando cada vez mayor popularidad y universalidad gracias a las multitudinarias representaciones festivas que se celebran en esta capital aragonesa. Según la tradición, apoyada en hechos históricos, la leyenda se remonta a principios del siglo XIII. Fue en 1555 cuando se descubrieron las supuestas momias de los amantes; y a partir de esta fecha existen referencias y algunos documentos y protocolos sobre la misma, pero no se puede descartar que hayan podido ser manipulados en algún momento. Antes de la fecha citada, el poeta latino de Calatayud Antonio Serón escribió una Silva de 478 versos que narra la historia de los Amantes. Esta silva, como los legajos del poeta, ha estado depositada en los archivos de la Biblioteca Nacional y vio la luz en las Obras completas de Antonio Serón, publicadas en 1982.
Incomprensiblemente, los investigadores y estudiosos de este tema, salvo alguna ligera cita, se han olvidado de este capital testimonio, quizás el documento impreso más antiguo que existe sobre la leyenda. En este artículo se transcriben versos y casi estrofas de la Silva, su estudio y una amplia biografía de su autor, poco conocido, aunque es un notable «poeta laureado» por Felipe II. The popular Legend of the Teruel Lovers is becoming increasingly popular and universal thanks to festive representation for large numbers of people that are celebrated in the Aragonese capital city. According to tradition, based on historical facts, the legend dates back to the beginning of the 13th Century. It was in the year 1555 when they discovered the alleged mummies of the lovers. From that moment onwards there are references and some documents and protocols regarding them, but it cannot be ruled out that they may have been manipulated at some moment in time. Before the date mentioned, the Spanish poet of Calatayud Antonio Serón wrote a Silva of 478 verses that narrates the history of the lovers.
This silva, like other writs of the poet, have been deposited in the archives of the National Library and came to light in the Complete works of Antonio Serón, published in 1982.
It is incomprehensible, that investigators and scholars of this matter, except some light citations, have forgotten this important testimonial, perhaps the most ancient printed document that exists of the legent. This article transcribes verses and stanzas of the Silva, its study and an extensive biography of the little known author, even though he is a prominent «poet laureate» by Felipe II, as well as the current known version of the Legend
