Resumen de Temístio, o imperador juliano e a discussão em torno do conceito de realeza no século IV D.C.

Há muitos indícios na historiografia do século IV d.C. sobre discussões acerca do conceito de realeza. Isso acontece em um momento que o Império Romano realiza uma mudança acentuada em seus valores políticos e religiosos. Novas idéias sobre as atitudes do monarca e sua cultura político-filosófica são argumentadas por autores cristãos e pagãos. No caso do presente artigo, tem-se como objetivo analisar as construções sobre o conceito de realeza ocorridas nas discussões entre Temístio, filósofo pagão com uma boa inserção na corte imperial da época, e o Imperador Juliano. Serão destacados, nessa contenda, alguns documentos do período, em especial a Carta a Temístio, redigida por Juliano.

There are many evidences in historiography of the 4th century A.D. about discussions concerning the concept of Royalty. It happens at the time when the Roman Empire performs an acute change in its political and religious values. New ideas about the behavior of the sovereign and his political philosophical culture are argued by Christian and Pagan authors. In the present case, the objective is to analyze the concepts that have arisen from the discussions of Themistius, the Pagan philosopher with a good influence within the imperial court, and the Emperor Julian. For this, it was part of the corpus some historical documents such as Letters to Themistius written by Julian.
