Los Pérez de Santa Cruz, originarios de Soria, se instalaron en la ciudad de Albarracín a finales del siglo XV o principios del XVI, llegando a ser, a lo largo de doscientos años, una de las familias principales de esa tierra. En el presente artículo, además de la genealogía y noticias de tal linaje, se proporcionan con más detalle algunos datos biográficos del último y probablemente más relevante miembro de tal familia, Don Juan Pérez de Santa Cruz y Nardués, caballero de la Orden de Santiago, Ayuda de Cámara de Carlos II y Secretario del Consejo Supremo de Aragón quien, a las órdenes de Juan José de Austria, fue uno de los que sacaron de la cárcel de corte a Antonio de Córdoba y Montemayor.

The Pérez de Santa Cruz family, originally from Soria, settled in the town of Albarracin at the end of the 15th century or beginning of the 16th. Over two hundred years, they became one of the most important families of that region. In this article, apart from the genealogy and news of this lineage, some biographical data of the last and probably most important member of this family are given in greater detail. Juan Perez de Santa Cruz y Nardues, knight of the Order of Santiago, Valet of Charles II and Secretary of the Supreme Council of Aragon, who, under the orders of John Joseph of Austria, was one of the ones who got Antonio de Cordoba y Montemayor out of the royal jail.
