In recent times, the need to improve the quality of processes and products in the software industry has led to the development and implementation of standards and models to guide companies in each of the stages of software development. In this investigation the Process of Software Development and Maintenance of Category Operation NMX-I-059/02-NYCE-2011 standard "- Software Engineering - Information Technology Product Quality" addresses (MoProSoft) and the implentación software tools to improve the implementation of unit testing in this process. It is noteworthy that chose the Java programming language and free software tools in order to investigate and explain the use of tools for unit testing.
