In this design presents an alternative way to determine a particular object by means of an infrared sensor for applications in manufacturing processes. The objective is to calculate the length and width of a cube product in this case. The procedure involves taking the distance of the object to the sensor in different positions and using a data processing dimensions (length, width) are obtained. The results are presented by graphs where the measurement error and sensor behavior with object. With the system of distance measurement by triangulation that handles the infrared sensor can determine the distance from a reference to the object in question in a very precise way and with very little margin for error.
