  • The article discusses world politics, with a particular focus on the potential dissolution of the post-Cold War world order. According to the author, challenges to the global order include weak states and terrorist activity in the Middle East, instability on the periphery of Europe, and greenhouse gas emissions. It is suggested that a likely outcome is a disorderly international system featuring several autonomous large powers, in which U.S. interests play a diminished role. Other topics include regime change in Iraq and Egypt, U.S. policy in Syria, and global governance.
