Malaria in Bolivia is a public health problem of national importance, which negatively effects in productivity and economic development.
The present study aimed to explore the prevalence of Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium falciparum in Poroma (Chuquisaca) and Guayaramerin (Beni). The results would provide information for the promotion, development and deepening of new studies on the subject. It is also important to emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and detection of Plasmodium vivax, without neglecting strict adherence to the treatment.
