Resumen de Prevalencia de toxoplasmosis en embarazadas, Hospital San Lucas en los años 2009-2010.

Alvino Villafuerte, Maricel Mamani

  • Toxoplasmosis is an infectious disease caused by a pathogenic parasite Toxoplasma gondii which is an intracellular protozoan. This parasite is capable of infecting a wide variety of birds and mammals, including man.

This worked aimed to determine the prevalence of toxoplasmosis in pregnant women in the San Lucas Hospital in 2009 and 2010.

The statistics will help to see the importance of educational programs aimed at preventing and controlling parasitosis if the infection is established during infection.
