    • Tuberculosis is a social contagious chronic disease, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is transmitted through aerosols produced by coughing and sneezing, which are suspended in the air and being inhaled penetrate the bronchial tree to the introduction and multiplication of bacilli.

      The diagnosis of TB cases is free and is done through studies of serial sputum bacilli copies, chest radiography (used as a complementary method in certain cases) alone is not sufficient to establish the diagnosis of tuberculosis.

      The present study aims to determine the prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis in patients with respiratory symptoms who attended the San Antonio hospital Sauces Monteagudo, March-May 2008
