Chagas disease is a major public health problem in our country. This disease by the living conditions , the high poverty rate , domiciliary habits, housing infrastructure , animal husbandry ; are key factors for the development of infection.
The present study was conducted to determine the seroprevalence of American Trypanosomiasis in Pregnant Women Mother and Child Center " Poconas . " During the months October to December 2010 from laboratory records.
This study studied 97 pregnant women Maternal Child Center " Poconas . " Was made based during the months October to December 2010 from laboratory records of which 30 % have reactivity to Trypanosoma cruzi infection. It also notes that as many pregnant women are in the month of October compared to the months of November and December.
