  • Resumen
    • It is frequenty used areas of values established by other populations with different characteristics to ours, with the possible risk in the interpretation thereof, we must acquire own experiences to reach as soon as possible to establish a reference range of own population. In this sense, this study aimed to determine the reference values of the blood count in an apparently healthy population from the towns of Tarabuco (3284m.snm ) and Zudáñez ( 2200m.snm ) . The study was conducted on 645 people , of which 315 belong to the town of Tarabuco and 330 in the town of Zudáñez ; adults of both sexes, between 15-49 years of age, who met the clinical criteria desirable for the study.

Hemoglobin, hematocrit, red blood cells, white blood cells, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration and leukocyte: parameters were studied. A descriptive, cross-sectional observational study was conducted for the study using the hematology analyzer ABX Micros 60 counter " and manual methods.

By performing a comparison of the results obtained with the 3284 m to 2200 m results it is observed that the difference was statistically significant for hematocrit, hemoglobin and red blood cells.
