  • In this article I will try to present the main problems in the professional education of Psychology in Puerto rico, as identified in a survey of professors of graduate programs in psychology in Puerto Rico. In order to analyze this problema within the historical development of psychology in Puerto Rico I will first discuss the development of psychology within the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), the first university in Puerto Rico to offer courses, a major and a master´s degree in psychology. Second, I will review all the graduate programs in psychology offered in Puerto Rico. Finally, I will describe the method used in this survey, present and analyze its results and its recommendations.
