  • This article reviews the professional endeavors of community psychologists for the purpose of exploring  the issue of congruence between theoretical formulations and the profession´s field practices. The study attempts and indepth analysis of an ongoing controversy in the hopes of furthering the development of the sociology of knowledge within profession. Various factors that intensify the discrepancies and divergencies between theory and practice are explored.
