Resumen de Franciscanismo seglar y propaganda en la Península Ibérica y ultramar durante la Edad Moderna

Este trabajo analiza la importancia desempeñada por la imprenta en el proceso de propagación del modo de vida franciscano secular en la Península Ibérica y América durante la Edad Moderna. Ana lizando la evolución de la producción impresa y sus características internas se observa un paralelis mo entre el crecimiento del movimiento desde principios del siglo XVII en adelante y el aumento de las publicaciones. Si el siglo XVIII constituye el momento álgido de esa producción, la primera mitad del siglo XIX trae consigo un período de decadencia. En cuanto a la temática, se observa un predominio de las obras que contienen la regla y otros textos normativos, seguido por los sermones y oraciones fúnebres, las recopilaciones de privilegios y las obras devocionales y vidas de santos.

This research analyzes the importance of printing in the spread of secular Franciscan way of life in the Iberian Peninsula during the Early Modern Age. Analysing the evolution of print production and its internal characteristics, we see a parallel between the growth of the movement and the rise of publications, from the early 17th century. The 18th century is the height of all that production and the first half of the nineteenth century, a period of decline. With regard to issues of publications, printed works that predominate are those who talk about the rule and other legal texts, followed by the sermons and funeral prayers, the collections of privileges, the devotional works and the lives of the saints of the order.
