    Los frailes seráficos tuvieron el privilegio de ser los primeros en llegar a Nueva España. Tras la derrota del imperio mexica, la integración del territorio novohispano debía llevarse a cabo a través de la cristianización de la población indígena. Teniendo esto presente, considero que resulta escla recedor plantear el perfil espiritual y eclesial de los religiosos franciscanos que llegaron al Nuevo Mundo en el siglo XVI. La indagación en las diferentes corrientes reformadoras llevadas a cabo en el seno de la Orden y el recorrido a través de las diversas influencias ideológicas podrán enmarcar la singularidad del proceso de "conquista espiritual" impulsado por los frailes menores en tierras mesoamericanas

    The Franciscans had the privilege of being the first one in coming to New Spain. After the defeat of the Mexican empire, the integration of the territory of New Spain it was to be accomplished through the Christianization of the indigenous population. Bearing in mind this, I think that it turns out to be enlightening to raise the profile of spiritual and ecclesial Seraphic religious who came to the New World in the XVIth century. The investigation in the different reformist currents conducted within the Order and travel through the diverse ideological influences they will be able to frame the singularity of the process of "spiritual conquest" stimulated by the minor friars in Indo-Americanlands.
