This paper studies the Quintus of Smyrna's narration of the arrivals and receptions of the heroes in Troy. It shows that the episodies are structured in a rather symmetrical way, although he introduces some variations into narrative scherne. For this reason, in order to avoid so much similarity, Quintus uses the resort of parallelisms and contrasts when he is dealing with the characterization of such heroes.
