A lo largo de este artículo se afrontan distintas cuestiones en el ámbito de la filosofía moral vinculadas con los modos de fundamentación de la ética discursiva. Junto a ello, son dilucidados también sus contornos definitorios: una ética primordialmente kantiana que pretende alejar y subsumir al mismo tiempo las limitaciones y los logros de las éticas hegelianas y aristotélicas. Aunque impere cierta coincidencia en torno a los presupuestos preliminares de investigación entre los planteamientos de Habermas y los de Apel, las divergencias son también manifiestas. Por lo demás, el esmero por esculpir un Kant a medida, liberado de todo sesgo limitativo, no logra evitar que la ética discursiva adolezca de algunas carencias significativas.

Throughout this paper are faced various issues in the field of moral philosophy related to modes of foundation of discourse ethics. Along with this, they are also elucidated its defining contours: a primarily Kantian ethics that at the same time tries to move away and to subsume the limitations and achievements of Hegelian and Aristotelian ethics. Although it prevails some common points around preliminary research interests between the approaches of Habermas and Apel, the differences between them are also apparent. Furthermore, the effort to sculpt a custom-made Kant, freed from all limiting bias, it can not avoid that discourse ethics has significant shortcomings.
