Sedimentological, stratigraphical and palynological analysis has been performed on the vibrocored ZV-01. This core is located at the inner area of the Ría de Vigo. Sedimentological analysis show that the core is compound by dark muds with variable percentages of bioclasts as well as small voids due to the presence of shallow gas. The palynological data give an age of 1350 years B.P. (650 A.D.) for the bottom of this core. Therefore, the calculated sedimentation rate is 1.85 mm/ year for the last 1350 years in this part of the Ría de Vigo. The age of the seal sediments at this location is 1380 A.D. approximately.
