  • Resumen
    • Long-forgotten stained-glass windows designed by Maurice Denis for Sainte-Macre church in Fère-en-Tardenois, France, have been rediscovered. Following the destruction of the church's stained-glass window during World War I, Denis was commissioned by painter and collector Etienne Moreau-Etalon to create a new one as part of wider renovations of the church. This window is still visible in the church today. However, other stained-glass windows created by Denis for the church's choir, and installed in 1924, seemed to have been permanently lost during World War II. The four windows comprised two bays dedicated to the Evangelists. Following a study of previously unknown sources, these windows were rediscovered in storage in a warehouse belonging to the Monuments historiques in Champs-sur-Marne.
