Resumen de Le chantier du duomo de Milan entre xive et xve siècle. De Giovanni de Grassi aux frères Dalle Masegne et de Jean Mignot à Filippino de Modena

Laura Cavazzini

  • Involving artists from all over Europe, the beginning of construction work on the Duomo of Milan in Italy in 1836 marked a crucial stage in the history of art in Lombardy. The organization of the work, carried out between the 14th and the 15th century, always maintained a collegial atmosphere. In addition, there was a profound change in the formal principles of the construction and the decoration between the two centuries. During the first phase, it was Lombard masters Giovannino de Grassi and Giacomo de Campione who stood out and left a mark through their great expressive force. In the early Quattrocento, the arrival of a French group of artists, including architect Jean Mignot and sculptor Roger de Banille, marked a change in the project's orientation.
